At K3 MediaLab, we combine practical production with theoretical perspectives to provide our students with insight into all aspects of media production. Media production in academia encompasses diverse approaches. Disciplines like media and communication studies emphasize theoretical frameworks to analyze media’s societal impacts, often using media production as a method for analysis and reflection . Conversely, in fields such as art and design, the emphasis is on practical production, fostering creativity and hands-on exploration. Here, theory often emerges from practice, enhancing understanding and generating new insights. This blend of theoretical and practical approaches allows media production to navigate and innovate across academic and professional landscapes.

We are located in four labs at Orkanen, Nordensköldsgatan 10 in Malmö. At the third floor you find our TV-studio, postproduction lab and photo studio. On the fourth floor you find our print lab.
