This is a blog about digital media and humanitarian work. We will explore the ways that humanitarian actors \u2014 from NGOs and civil society groups to social marketers, journalists, and academics \u2014 use the tools of digital media to connect with, inspire, inform, and engage their audiences. We are especially interested in digital media that furthers humanitarian causes and promotes global social, economic, and environmental justice.<\/p>\n

Decode Media,\u201d in reference to the code used to create digital media and the goal of this blog, which is to explain the ways digital media is being used to strengthen movements for change.<\/p>\n

Our work on this blog will allow us to explore how global development is shaped and influenced by digital media\u2014both positively and negatively.<\/p>\n

Julia Kotowska\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Julia is a journalist for Reuters. She has significant experience in writing and editing texts<\/p>\n

Anita Esi Otoo<\/strong><\/p>\n

Anita has worked as a Rotaractor and volunteered on developmental projects with Rotary International for a decade in communities across Africa.<\/p>\n

Maxwell Leighton<\/strong><\/p>\n

Max is a current affairs producer for CBC Radio in Canada. He produces three daily radio shows focusing on the people and the politics of the Yukon. He is also a former web and broadcast journalist with significant experience writing for digital media and social media platforms.<\/p>\n

Aurora Lorenzi<\/strong><\/p>\n

Aurora is a professional translator and cultural mediator as well as restaurant manager in C\u00f4te d\u2019Azur \u2013 South of France \u2013 with a deep passion for communication as a powerful tool to influence minds and drive continuous change in the world.<\/p>\n

Kinga Szkwarek<\/strong><\/p>\n

Kinga is an Influencer Marketing Manager with a strong focus on communication through social media as a powerful tool for engagement.
