Here an introduction of the team who writes on Exploring Digital Activism<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Clau (they\/them)<\/strong><\/a><\/h4>\n

Educator, community organiser, and Master’s student in Communication for Development at Malm\u00f6 University. Based in Vienna<\/strong>, Clau works in gender-based violence prevention and harm reduction. They are an active member of Planet 10, a queer, migrant-led community space and house project in Vienna. Their research centres on social movements, focusing on gender, migration, and labour organising. Through their blog, Clau aims to write about the voices and perspectives of grassroots community organisers.<\/p>\n

<\/h4>\n

Joel (he\/him)<\/a><\/strong><\/h4>\n

Living in Copenhagen<\/strong> and studying for the MA in ComDev, Joel writes on the relationship between protest, digital activism and grassroots movements. He has previously worked as a teacher in the UK, and has also taught German to refugees and migrants at the Berlin-based not-for-profit, KuB, which advises refugees on asylum and residency procedures. He has also worked on a freelance basis in communications for a UK not-for-profit organisation that works in coalition with public and private actors to rewire financial markets to invest in green transformation projects.<\/p>\n

<\/h4>\n

Panagiotis (he\/him)<\/a><\/strong><\/h4>\n

High School teacher from Greece, based in Thessaloniki<\/strong>. In the afternoons he tutors young children, reads literature, writes and spends time with his daughter. All that together with the Master\u2019s programme in Comdev. Panagiotis is particularly interested in fields like communication for social change, propaganda, and misinformation. He considers the knowledge gained from the programme useful for applying into his lessons and raising students\u2019 awareness for a range of issues.<\/p>\n

<\/h4>\n

Sam (he\/him)<\/a><\/strong><\/h4>\n

Photographer and filmmaker from Wales in the UK, currently in Gothenburg<\/strong> studying an MFA in photography in combination with the MA program in ComDev from Malm\u00f3 University. Sam is interested in the intersectionality between art, activism, and communication for social change especially around topics of decolonial\/postcolonial feminism, environmental and social justice, queerness, crip theory and animal rights.<\/p>\n

<\/h4>\n

Salih (he\/him)<\/a><\/strong><\/h4>\n

Salih is a political activist and journalist from Cyprus<\/strong>. He currently writes for a daily newspaper in Cyprus known for advocating freedom of expression and the island\u2019s liberation. He is also the editor of a digitally published newspaper. Additionally, he is an active member of the political movement and its global anti-imperialist and progressive alliances.<\/p>\n

<\/h4>\n

Xanthia (she\/her)<\/a><\/strong><\/h4>\n

Xanthia Mavraki is a Communications & Sustainability Specialist and researcher specialising in Equality, Diversity & Inclusion, as well as the intersection of cultural policy, creative industries, and spatial inequalities. With a Master\u2019s in Cultural & Creative Industries from King\u2019s College London, she has conducted extensive research on the challenges faced by artists in the UK and Greece, particularly around representation and access to collaborative spaces. As a researcher at the London Cultural Diversity Lab, she writes on the impact of Brexit, austerity, and the pandemic on the UK\u2019s cultural economy, extending this analysis to transnational art networks. Her current work emphasises the importance of cross-border collaboration, particularly in the context of the Athens<\/strong> Biennale, where she previously worked as a Communications Assistant.<\/p>\n
