Hi, I’m FI, Palestinian-Danish.
In a world where identity is often weaponized, I choose to remain anonymous—not out of fear, but to protect the integrity of open discourse. As a Palestinian, I have seen how identity can silence voices. Anonymity allows me to speak freely, with ideas judged on their merits rather than who I am.
Over the years, I have worked in a range of different fields from journalism to managing media NGOs targeting minorities and vulnerable communities, with a focus on advocacy, communications and development policy. My experience spans everything from opinion writing and TV content production to managing international projects that challenge the status quo.
In this space, I want to dig into some critical issues that are often overlooked or do not take its true and fair weight– like the global power dynamics behind development aid and how it is used. It is no secret that many Western countries often use aid as more than just a way to help; it becomes a tool of influence that shapes the politics of the countries they “support”. So the big question is how do we regain our agency in these systems? How do we ensure that international aid is transparent, decolonised and genuinely driven by the people it is meant to serve?
Another issue I’m really interested in is how the media shapes our view of development. Whether we notice it or not, in the case of many Western media outlets, there is a Western dominance of the global conversation, often drowning out local voices and shaping narratives that are far from the full picture. I want to engage with the current debate and discuss ways to decolonize the way we communicate and make room for perspectives that have been ignored or marginalized for too long.

التحدث بحرية: رحلتي نحو اكتشاف ديناميكيات القوة والمساعدات والإعلام
مرحبًا، أنا ف إ فلسطينية دنماركية.
في عالم تُستخدَم فيه الهوية كسلاح في كثير من الأحيان، أختار البقاء مجهولة – ليس خوفًا، ولكن لحماية نزاهة النقاش المفتوح.
بصفتي فلسطينية، شهدت كيف يمكن للهوية أن تُسكت الأصوات. يَسمح لي عدم الكشف عن هويتي بالتحدث بحرية، حيث يتم الحكم على الأفكار بناءً على قيمتها، وليس بناءً على من أكون.
على مر السنين، عملت في مجموعة متنوعة من المجالات، من الصحافة إلى إدارة المنظمات غير الحكومية الإعلامية التي تستهدف الأقليات والمجتمعات الضعيفة، مع التركيز على المناصرة والاتصالات وسياسة التنمية. تمتد خبرتي إلى العديد من المجالات من كتابة الرأي إلى إنتاج المحتوى التلفزيوني إلى إدارة المشاريع الدولية التي تتحدى الوضع الراهن.
في هذه المساحة، أرغب في التعمق في بعض القضايا الحرجة التي غالباً ما يتم تجاهلها أو لا تأخذ وزنها الحقيقي – مثل ديناميكيات القوة العالمية وراء مساعدات التنمية وكيفية استخدامها. ليس سراً أن العديد من الدول الغربية تستخدم المساعدات كأداة تتجاوز مجرد تقديم الدعم؛ فهي تصبح أداة نفوذ تشكل سياسات الدول التي “تدعمها”. السؤال المهم هنا هو: كيف نستعيد سيادتنا في هذه الأنظمة؟ كيف نضمن أن تكون المساعدات الدولية شفافة وخالية من الهيمنة الاستعمارية وموجهة حقاً لخدمة الشعوب التي يُفترض أن تخدمها؟
وهناك قضية أخرى تثير اهتمامي بشدة وهي كيف تشكل وسائل الإعلام رؤيتنا للتنمية. وسواء لاحظنا ذلك أم لا، فإن العديد من وسائل الإعلام الغربية تهيمن على المحادثة العالمية، يغرق الأصوات المحلية ويشكل السرديات بطرق لا تمثل الصورة الكاملة. أريد أن أنخرط في المناقشة الحالية واستكشاف طرق “تحرير” كيفية تواصلنا، وفتح المجال لوجهات نظر تم تجاهلها أو تهميشها لفترة طويلة جدًا.
