The New Media Times is a team of 3 women writing about New Media, Activism and Development. We will cover discussions, debates and current events on the themes of digital activism, slacktivism, and (new) media manipulation. These subjects will be approached from an activism, media, and development perspective and we aim to highlight contemporary debates and discussions that have been, and still are, on many people’s radars.
Who are we?
Andra D.
Andra is a Dutch anthropologist who lives in Berlin, Germany. She works as a social worker at a refugee shelter and is a big fan of the arts, languages and justice. In her posts, she will focus on activism and slacktivism and the impact of disinformation on current events.
Ellinor Thor
A feminist Swede living in the US. She writes about current events and movements, media manipulation and social justice. She will also highlight relevant differences between Sweden and the USA regarding the media management of the Covid-19 outbreak.
Luana Pereira
An environmental justice enthusiast, currently based in Sweden. She writes about disinformation, ‘fake news’, and media manipulation in the fight against climate change. She likes popcorn.
