Social media addiction can paramount to excessive usage – and this becomes a vicious circle<\/strong>. Social media is deliberately designed by experts to become more addictive with the help of many different methods.<\/p>\n

These methods are so effective they can activate similar mechanisms as cocaine in the brain, create psychological cravings and even invoke \u201cphantom calls and notifications\u201d where users sense the buzz of a smartphone, even when it isn\u2019t really there (Busby, 2018)<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
