As ICTs developed as a means of expression, offering users the possibility of expressing themselves and sharing content freely, some behaviours against gender equality began to be noticed, reproducing the situation in the offline (physical) context.
It became necessary that all these issues of human rights are included in the content of ICTs, creating a vision not only related to communicate but also with a gender perspective.
It is from here that some affected groups raise their voices, do not let themselves be intimidated and look for ways to resist and consolidate their rights. For feminist activists this becomes a sign that we still need more online and offline feminism.
Based on this need for more and better information about the content offered by ICTs, in my first post “Online feminism activism”, I analyse the main obstacles to this movement in the ICTs, including a brief comparison with offline feminism. In addition, some examples of relevant initiatives are included.
In my second post “Media framing feminism”, I address the issue of mainstream feminism, an egotistical feminism, where only white women have the right to raise their voices, skipping the real inequalities and concerns faced by the majority of black women and the women of minority groups. Mainstream feminism is a widely sold feminism in many contents of the ICTs that slows down the development of a truly inclusive society.
