{"id":67,"date":"2022-09-19T14:18:53","date_gmt":"2022-09-19T14:18:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wpmu.mau.se\/nmict22group6\/?page_id=67"},"modified":"2022-10-27T16:29:29","modified_gmt":"2022-10-27T16:29:29","slug":"about","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/wpmu.mau.se\/nmict22group6\/about\/","title":{"rendered":"Welcome to Banners &amp; Hashtags!"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Welcome to<strong> Banners &amp; Hashtags<\/strong>, a blog dedicated to exploring <strong>New Media, Activism &amp; Development<\/strong> in different forms. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This blog is a project within the<strong> Communication for Development Master&#8217;s Program<\/strong>\u00a0at Malm\u00f6 University, and is curated by four master\u2019s students with different origins, backgrounds and experiences. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The name <strong>Banners &amp; Hashtags<\/strong> refers to the intersection of offline and online activism and development. Social change initiatives and protests are marked not only by the banners that are carried by people in the streets but also through the hashtags that proliferate online as a rallying cry, such as #BlackLivesMatter, #MeToo, #MahsaAmini, #NiUnaMenos and #EndSARS. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This blog aims at reflecting the diversity of our personal, academic and professional lives, our different cultures, perspectives and knowledge, with a \u201csharing is caring\u201d- approach.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">We will highlight stories, cases and news we find interesting, with the wish to be of inspiration to our readers. She has a past in the advertising industry, where she realized how pervasive sexism is in the sector and the damaging impact it has in our everyday life. He has written extensively about social and political issues and events, including the 2020 pro-democracy protests in Thailand, the Rohingya crisis and the 2021 military coup in Myanmar. Now a full-time student based in Stockholm, Sweden, she had first-hand experience in promoting international \u201cWestern\u201d government practices in the global south, while bridging the interculturality of Global South and Global North.
