Communicating the way towards 2030

SDGs – On track or Side-tracked?

About this blog

With the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Summit (September 18-19, 2023) in New York, the Agenda 2030 has reached a critical point in its implementation. At the Summit, the 17 Global Goals will be reviewed and world leaders are expected to discuss ways to accelerate efforts to reach the SDGs. Today, we have less than 7 years to reach the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

Official reports and studies point out that we are falling behind and are not likely to meet the ambition targets that were set. The blog will focus on the UN SDG campaign and how other actors are using information and communication technologies to advance socio-economic development, especially in middle- and low-income countries. We take a closer look at how the SDGs and the 2030 Agenda campaign are driven by a wide range of communications strategies, technologies and applications, including mobile devices, the internet, social media and other new media.
