Hello, is anybody listening? Can you hear us? Okay, great, you found us!

Welcome to our blog “Is anybody listening?”

We are five students who are very excited to welcome you to our new blog we have started as a short project for our Master’s programme, Communication for Development, at Malmö University.

This blog is dedicated to local to global activism and empowering change through technology. Through our various posts, we want to explore the dynamic relationship between local and global activism and the use of digital tools. We will dive deeper into different aspects of online and offline activism, new media and technology as a tool of activism and protest and look further at common debates around the digital divide, algorithm bias and censorship, among others. We will also look at how technology can lead to negative social impacts hindering long-term development.

In times when positive social change is urgently needed, we aim to share with you an exploration of local-to-global activism through technology and how it serves individuals and communities to be heard, drive social change and inspire a more sustainable future for all. Join us as we take a closer look into different aspects of local and global activism, new media and technology. We look forward to welcoming your comments on our blogs and our social media channels.
