Introduction and Mission:
This portal is managed by the Department of Urban Studies at Malmo University (MaU). The Department of Urban Studies focuses on a broad spectrum of issues relating to society and urban areas, real estate and housing, planning, organization, and public transport. The department offers a range of relevant programs and courses that result in research-based and/or practical projects which their findings are presented as written reports or visual and audiovisual materials (e.g., posters, infographics, and films) by students. The projects intend to explain and evaluate urban issues, investigate and propose different approaches, solutions, and design ideas to improve the quality of urban life and sustainability in societies. Besides the pedagogical aims the programs follow, the reports and the visual and audiovisual materials, produced by the students under the supervision of the university teachers, are considered informative communication tools between universities and society.
Thus, this portal intends to archive and exhibit some of the programs’ outputs to facilitate the department’s communication with the relevant organizations and the general public and contribute to knowledge-sharing. In addition, the portal is used as a pedagogical tool and an archive for our teachers and students of different years.
