First English Language School (FELS), Sofia is a public high school in Bulgaria for students in grades eight to twelve. At FELS, students are engaged in a bilingual environment with the purpose of teaching them English to the point of fluency. As an assistant teacher, I have observed lessons in Basic English in grade 10 and Business English in grade 12, helped lead the learning process, guide and instruct students, grade students’ assignments and exams, substitute, create lesson plans and lead lessons of my own. Through this internship, I have greatly improved my professional communication skills, adaptability, creativity, work management skills and gained invaluable working experience. It has been a pleasure to do this job and I have gained an even greater appreciation for the work that teachers do.
