Hello reader.
We are four women spread across four different countries, united by our interest in the ways activists are using new media to connect with each other and shape the world. We are also all students at Malmö University, and this blog is an exercise for a course we are studying about new media, ICT and development.
So, who are our writers?
- New World: New World is an operations professional working in the human rights field.
- Esme: Esme is print media journalist-turned comms professional.
- Felicia: Felicia is a communications consultant within the field of social development.
- Let’s go digital: Let’s go digital is a social researcher within comms and policy.
We’ll be bringing you news and insights into stories of change-makers around the globe over the next six weeks, examining activism happening both in and through new media.
Stay tuned for a behind the scenes peek into contemporary digital development: from online protest to art for social change, we hope you find something that interests you. And if there’s something you’d like to ask us, feel free to reach out in the comments.
Thank you for being here and stay well,
The NMNW team
PS. This is a photo taken by one of our team at the beach in Malmö. We thought it captured the fact that we are all studying at Malmö University, but we are turning our attention outwards, to the world beyond these shores.
